Who may apply?

    1.  Families must be residents of the state of Pennsylvania.

    2.  Families with one dependent child must make no more than $60,000 a year with an increase of $10,000 allowed for
    each additional dependent child.

    3.  Students in grades K-12 must be enrolled in a Pennsylvania private school.

You do not have to be enrolled at MCCS in order to apply in the screening process.  However, before you can be
awarded a KCEA application, you must be enrolled and have paid your enrollment fee by Pennsylvania law.   If you
rank high enough in the screening process to receive a KCEA application, you will most likely qualify to receive an
award.  However, no promises can be made.

    How are awards determined?

Decisions are primarily based on need as determined by the Private School Aid Service.  This is based on your
financial information, family situation, and how much money is available to give.  The amount of scholarship awards
that are distributed are dependent on the amount of money that is available to give.

    How do I apply?

There are three ways to apply for the screening process through the MCCS Scholarship Fund.

    1.  Call the school office at 724-887-7169 and have an application sent to you or pick one up.

    2.  Download a .PDF format of our scholarship application by clicking on the link to the right. This form is a state of
the art interactive PDF, and may be utilized in several ways:

a). The .PDF may be printed and filled out.
                                                           or:
b).  You may complete the .PDF directly on your computer screen by placing the cursor at the appropriate fields
(either by tabbing or entering through) and typing in the information.  You can then print the completed document.

After your application is completed in its entirety, you can attach the required documentation along with
your $21 processing fee, and mail to:

    Private School Aid Service
    P.O.. Box 770728
    Lakewood, OH  44107

It MUST be postmarked by April 10, 2010.

    3.  Apply online by going to www.psas.org and clicking on the box that says, "Family Online Application.".  After you create or
enter your log-in, the school's authorization code is 3546.  You will need this code to log-in.

General Scholarships

We have begun actively fund-raising for an MCCS Scholarship Fund through donations of individuals,
businesses and private foundations.  We have received donations from businesses and individuals that are
local to us and those will be available this year, along with the Keystone Christian Education Association
funds that we receive each year.  We have several private foundations that are showing an interest in our
    scholarship fund as well.

The scholarships available are based on need.  Normally, we have several families that receive partial
scholarships to MCCS.  Because KCEA is only able to send us limited applications, we must first allow all
who are interested to apply through the MCCS Scholarship Fund’s screening program, the Private School
Aid Service.  There is a $21 fee to apply through PSAS, and they in turn will send reports to our business
office with need rankings of all that applied.  Based on these reports, the KCEA applications will be
awarded.  You can check the status of your application at www.psas.org.

If you are awarded a KCEA application, you will need to reapply with it through PSAS a second time in May
to receive KCEA monies.  We are sorry for this inconvenience, but it is necessary in order to provide a fair
outcome for all involved.  With copies of your first application, the work should be minimal.  PSAS will not
charge you a second $21 fee if you send a letter stating you have already applied once that school year.

The application mailing deadline for the MCCS screening process to PSAS will be April 10, 2010.  This is so
we can receive our reports back by April 30 and hand out the KCEA applications in the beginning of May.  If
you would like an MCCS application, please call or visit the school office to obtain one, download one from
the link below, or apply online at www.psas.org.  If you know any families that had to leave the school due to
financial situations, you may want to inform them of this opportunity.  Please see below for further details.

    Thank you,
