MCCS has instituted a new tuition-assistance program this year, a "Do-It-Yourself" Scholarship
Program, if you will. For the school year 2009-2010 we have decided to give every family an
opportunity to raise tuition dollars through our new fund raising program. Each family can choose
to opt out of the fund raising program by paying the full amount of tuition listed on the page called
Tuition and Fees.
If you prefer to use the program, any profit (minus a small processing fee) will be deducted from
your regular tuition bill. You may not raise more with Scrip that the total of your tuition bill;
however, you may indicate a student outside of your family to receive your profits in order to help
them lower their bill if you wish.
This program is called "Scrip" and is essentially fund raising while you shop. "Scrip" is a term that
means "substitute money." The program allows you to purchase "scrip" for everyday expenses
like food, clothing, and entertainment while earning a percentage of each dollar of scrip
purchased back in revenue. This money goes directly toward your tuition bill. Scrip is "no
selling" fund raising!
The reason for the effectiveness of scrip is simple: families generate revenue through purchases
they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with
scrip. An organization of 150 families easily spends between one and two million dollars per year
on food, clothing and other essentials. If these families use scrip for these purchases, they can
raise as much as $40,000 to $80,000 per year for their organization --without spending an
additional penny. And the money that you earn goes directly toward your tuition bill, or that of a
student that you designate.

The Scrip cards can be ordered in one of two ways. You can submit an order form to the school with payment, or you can order
cards through the company's website www.shopwithscrip.com. Orders placed on the website can be paid with a check sent to the
school, or can be paid through the company's PrestoPay option. The PrestoPay option is a direct debit from your personal bank
account. Once set up, you can pay for your order online and no payments need to come to the school.
We can process orders every Monday if we have enough orders to reasonably cover the cost of shipping the cards to the school.
Orders placed by Monday at noon should arrive at the school on that Friday. If we do not have enough orders to submit weekly, we
will submit at least every first and third Monday of the month. So far since June, 2009, we have ordered almost every Monday.
Cards must be picked up at the school office or sent home with your student, we cannot mail cards to you.
This is an exciting option for families to lower their tuition bill. Families at other schools have earned over $1,000 per year by using
