Philosophy and Objectives
rounded education as well as the tenets of Biblical faith. We believe that the centrality of the Bible in Christian education is critical. It provides a unifying frame of reference for every subject and gives life and power to the whole curriculum. The objectives of the school are centered around these goals: To establish Christian Truth as a guide for life through: 1. An understanding that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and of man through which His eternal power and His divine nature are clearly seen. (Nehemiah 9:6) 2. An acceptance that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the only authority for faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16,17) 3. The knowledge that all men are sinners and can have salvation only through personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. (Titus 3:5,6) 4. The development (after coming to Christ) of consistent Christian life through prayer and daily Bible study. (I Peter 2:2) 5. A stirring of a desire to invest one's life in Christian service to the glory of God. (Colossians 1:9,10) To maintain high academic standards through: 1. A mastery of the skills of communication (English, writing, reading) and math so thoroughly that the student will be prepared to acquire further knowledge without hindering limitations. (Colossians 3:23) 2. The desire to work and acquire knowledge at maximum ability. (Ecclesiastes 9:10a) 3. The ability to discern truth from error. (I John 4:6) To instill pure morals in the heart of the student through: 1. Development of an appreciation for the values from our spiritual and cultural heritage. (Psalm 61:5) 2. An instilling of the desire to choose right over wrong and to hold to one's convictions under pressure. (Daniel 1:8) 3. The teaching of loyalty to our country and a recognition of atheistic teachings which undermine our country's foundation. (I Peter 2:13-17) 4. The recognition of government as God-ordained. (Romans 13:1) 5. The stirring of a desire to become involved citizens of this nation for the Lord's sake. (Acts 13:36a) To live a disciplined life through: 1. Submission to the Holy Spirit who conforms us to the image of Christ. (Romans 8:9,10) 2. The exercising of self-restraint and consideration of others. (I Corinthians 9:25,27) 3. Submission to the legitimate authorities with full cooperation, and when proper, by becoming a strong and gracious leader. (Titus 3:1) |
